Talks

Education is a major component to our group.  There are a 1×10^6 things to know in software development, but the best way to learn is directly from someone else.  We envision our members as the source of our talks, but occasionally we may bring in some outside experts.  Tell us what you would like to hear or present on in the comments.

Talk Guidelines

  • Keep them short – 15-30 minutes. Talks are important, but it’s the discussion that matters.
  • Don’t dumb them down – We are a technical group. This doesn’t mean its all code all the time, but we want the gory details.

Talk Ideas

  • Share a project you recently completed
  • Introduce us to a up-and-coming technology or idea
  • Teach the group a new tool

Special Topics

  • Fast Track – Provide an overview of all the resources and tools needed to start using a particular technology, like a platform.
  • Back to the Basics – Sometimes we all need a refresher, or maybe the basics have changed.
